A familiar face for your next step
Meet Nathan, your Nambour automatic driving instructor.
Nathan · Sunshine Coast · Automatic
Patient, relaxed and encouraging: that is how Nathan describes his teaching. He particularly enjoys helping first-time learners and students who feel anxious about driving. You have room to ask questions and learn without expecting everything to be right straight away.
“I’ll never expect you to get everything right straight away.”
01 Talk about your starting point Tell Nathan about your experience and what you want help with. A useful lesson starts with understanding the learner.
02 Work on the next skill Use your automatic driving lessons in Nambour to practise deliberately, ask questions and understand the feedback.
03 Take good habits with you Your licence is an important milestone. Keep building the judgement you will use when you drive independently.
A little local perspective
Put everyday destinations into perspective.
Nambour Library sits at the corner of Currie and Bury Streets. Council notes parking behind the council buildings and limited street parking, making the town centre a useful example of how planning, people and parking come together.
1
Prepare for the turn, not just the address
Knowing your destination is a start. Looking ahead for signs, other road users and your approach gives you more time to make a considered decision.
2
Give arrival the same attention as travel
A drive does not finish when the building comes into view. Keep your observations working as you look for a suitable place to stop.
Make practice serve a purpose
Use your Nambour driving lessons to identify a skill that will help on everyday trips. Then discuss how to practise it appropriately between lessons.
For parents and supervising drivers
Ask what the learner is working on and how practice between lessons can support it. A licence is the milestone; safe driving for life is the bigger picture.
