The roads you'll learn on
Manual & Automatic Driving Lessons Carina Heights
Most first lessons in Carina Heights happen on the residential grid around the local parks, where there's room to think. Gaffney Street, Willard Street and Whatmore Street are the sort of low-traffic streets where you can get the mirrors, the gears and a clean three-point turn sorted without a queue building behind you. Loop up past Gallipoli Road and Jones Road, along the edge of Whites Hill Reserve, and you add gentle bends and give-way corners at a pace that never rushes you.
When you're steady, the suburb's bigger roads are right here. Old Cleveland Road runs along the northern edge and gives you genuine multi-lane traffic, signalised intersections and lane changes to read, while Creek Road brings busier through-traffic and the kind of merging judgement test day expects. Pine Mountain Road and Citrine Street knit the quiet grid to the arterials, so we can walk a lesson from calm to busy and back without ever leaving Carina Heights.
Where you'll sit the test
Pre-Test Driving Lessons Carina Heights, Your Greenslopes Test
The nearest practical test centre to Carina Heights is Greenslopes, at the Greenslopes Shopping Mall on the corner of Logan Road and Plimsoll Street, about 5.2 km away. TMR doesn't tie you to a centre, so you can sit wherever suits, but most Carina Heights learners test at Greenslopes, so we spend the pre-test lessons on its actual streets around Logan Road. Every test-day package includes a warm-up lesson and the car.

Get your Licence, and everything changes
A licence changes the shape of your week. The bus along Old Cleveland Road is fine until it isn't, and the first time you drive yourself to work, to training, or over to a mate's place in Carindale without checking a timetable, you feel the difference straight away. That freedom is what we're really teaching toward in Carina Heights, one unhurried lesson at a time.
We keep the pace calm. Build familiarity with local roads while practising the driving skills assessed in the practical test. You practise the exact skills the test asks for, on the exact roads it uses.
If you're weighing up driving lessons Carina Heights or a driving school Carina Heights can rely on, start with a single lesson and see how it feels. No lock-in, just a patient instructor, your own quiet street to begin on, and a clear plan through to your licence.
Why Choose RAC for Driving Lessons Carina Heights
Old Cleveland Road, right on the edge
Multi-lane arterial practice usually means driving somewhere to find it. In Carina Heights it sits on the northern boundary, so you build lane discipline, merging and intersection reads on real through-traffic without going far.
Quiet streets by the parks
The grid around Gaffney Street, Willard Street and Whatmore Street is calm enough to nail reverse parks and three-point turns before nerves get involved. We use it on purpose for the early lessons.
A short hop to the test centre
Greenslopes is only about 5.2 km away, so more of your pre-test time goes on the roads you'll actually be marked on, not on getting there.
